Study the scientific co-authorship in Medical Sciences Research Center of Guilan

Background and aim: Collaboration with researchers at national and international level is broad form of scientific collaboration that the results of the studies in this area focuses on its importance and advantages. The aim of this study was to determine the co-authorship of researchers in Medical Science Research Centers of Guilan province.
Material and methods: This applied study was conducted using descriptive and survey method with a scientometric approach. The authors used the participation coefficient formula to determine the authors' participation. The research data were extracted from the Scopus citation database, and the scientific cooperation was drawn up using UCINET software.
Findings: The scientific outputs of the Research Centers of Guilan province were 1140 cases, and the scientific cooperation of all centers were 5171, too. Among them, the Urology Center with 310 scientific productions and 1608 collaborations and Dental Science Research Center with 157 scientific productions and 151 collaborations had the most and lowest levels of cooperation, respectively. This university has had the most co-authorship with the United States, Sweden, Spain and Germany, respectively. The total co-authorship coefficient was also 0.40.
Conclusion: The results showed that international cooperation of Guilan Medical Sciences Research Center is relatively at low levels.
