Abstract:   (2299 Views)
Background and aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the research portfolio of different Iranian industries in various quantitative and qualitative aspects and the effect of financial support and scientific collaboration on these researches.
Materials and methods: This study was conducted using a documentary method based on a scientometric approach. The population of the research consisted of Iranian industries’ scientific publications from 2010 to 2019, indexed in the Web of Science (WoS) (n=4902 documents). The organizational address label was used to identify the type of organizations in the WoS, and the “International Standard Industrial Classification of all Economic Activities (ISIC)” was applied to classify industries. In order to calculate the growth rate, the “exponential growth rate” was utilized.  Data were statistically analyzed using Chi-square and independent
t-tests.
Findings: The growth rate of these researches was about 0.097 during this period. The most collaboration of Iranian industries was with national (4056 documents) and foreign (1054 documents) universities, and the least collaboration was with foreign government organizations (82 documents), and foreign industries
(50 documents). Most of those scientific publications were in the class of “Manufacturing” (42%), “Mining and Quarrying” (20%) and “Electricity and Gas Supply” (10%), respectively.
Conclusion: Financial supports affect the quality of research and in other words, citations received documents. However, the citation index for each document based on collaborative organizations had no significant difference.
