Background and aim:International collaboration in science is a fact which has been under discussion at the world level now and then. The present study tries to examine the effects of various scientific collaborations on the quality of Iranian scientific publications in biotechnology. Materials and methods:The current study is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive in terms of method which is conducted via Scientometric approach. The research community is Iranian publications in biotechnology indexed in the Scopus database in the period of 2013-2022. Excel software was used for data analysis and graphs drawing. Pearson's correlation coefficient test was also used to determine the relationship between the scientific collaboration types and the quality of Iran's scientific publications in biotechnology by R software. Findings:Turkey, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates are the top 5 countries in scientific collaboration with Iran. The link between the type of scientific cooperation including international, national and organizational one with the quality of Iranian scientific outputs in biotechnology is significant. In this sense, the highest correlation between the type of international, national and organizational scientific collaboration with the quality of Iranian scientific publications in terms of Citation Counts was (0.99), for citations per publication (0.68) and the Field Weighted Citation Impact (FWCI) (0.59) respectively. Conclusion:The international scientific collaboration of Iranian researchers has been effective in Iranian scientific publications in biotechnology.
