Background and aim: One of the main indicators of the development and scientific credibility of societies at the international level is the scientific outputs of researchers in that country. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the extent to which the strategic goals of the Islamic World Science Citation Database (ISC) have been achieved in Iran and other Islamic countries. Materials and methods: In this applied and evaluative survey, the statistical population was full-time faculty members of Iranian universities (57,000 people) and 382 individuals were selected as a sample using Morgan table and entered into the research by Snowball method. Data were collected using a researcher-made questionnaire and analyzed through descriptive and inferential statistics by SPSS 21. Findings: According to the respondents, achieving the strategic goals of the ISC has been more successful in Iran than in other member countries of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) in the following areas: 1- Attracting scientific publications in other countries of the Islamic World, 2- Providing grounds for expansion and development of science production and scientometrics, and 3- Creating tools and suitable software and hardware infrastructures for upgrading and meeting the scientific needs of scientists with average ranks and criterion scores of 1.97 (1.03), 1.97 (1.03) and 1.72 (1.28), respectively. Moreover, both Iran and other member countries of the OIC have not been successful in the fields of: 1- Creating opportunities and strengthening the spirit of innovation in the humanities 2- Paying attention to ethical criteria in the production and dissemination of science 3- Providing the possibility of patents and clinical studies of scientists in Islamic countries with average ranks and criterion scores of 1.01 (1.99), 01.1 (1.99), 1.02 (1.98), respectively. Conclusion: According to the respondents, the ISC has been more successful in Iran compared to other member countries of the OIC in achieving strategic goals in regarding scientometric development and providing tools and infrastructures for scientific interactions of Islamic scientists.
