Abstract:   (12 Views)
Background and aim: Scientometrics is an effective tool for scientific planning and foresight. This study was conducted with the aim of performing a thematic analysis of articles published in the International Journal of Occupational Safety and Ergonomics from 2014 to 2023 to determine the distribution pattern of the articles based on the extracted themes.
Materials and methods: This study was conducted using scientometric methods through content analysis of published articles. All articles published within the specified time frame were collected and transferred to Excel 2016 for thematic analysis. The initial categorization of themes was performed by the researcher and then verified by experts in the field to ensure accuracy. Data analysis was also carried out using statistical tests in the Excel environment.
Findings: A total of 1027 articles were published in this journal from 2014 to 2023. The highest number of published articles belonged to Iran. Among the identified themes, "Inspection, supervision, and performance evaluation" had the highest share with 129 articles, while the theme "Ergonomics in small workshops and services" had the lowest share with only 1 article. Additionally, the themes "Physiopsychological status and ergonomic factors" and "Physiological characteristics and cognitive processes" have shown an upward trend in recent years.
Conclusion: The results of this study show that the dominant approach of the IJOSE journal in recent years has been centered on the practical and applied aspects of ergonomics, focusing on "inspection, supervision and performance evaluation" and "the impact of ergonomics on health, well-being and safety", which indicates the journal's attention to improving workplace conditions and promoting occupational health based on work compatibility.
